Aw, cute beanie hat! And maybe cuter still is the other photo on Portrait page 42 of Judy singing into the CBS microphone that's taller than she is! One of my favorites! :D

A screen cap from Everybody Sing - a close-up of Judy at the girls school principals desk as she is being expelled.

I adore the screencap from Everybody Sing - such sweetness, sadness and expression! When was the choir picture taken? How old was she - pre or post Wizard?

The choir photo is a scene still from M-G-M's 1937 "Christmas Trailer," which featured Judy in one chorus of "Silent Night," accompanied by the Saint Luke's Episcopal Church Choristers of Long Beach, CA.

The prerecording and filming were accomplished in a couple of days in November 1937 -- about 11 months before Judy began principal photography for OZ.

Real treasures, Stefy!
I love both the roller skating shots. That last Melbourne-Spurr portrait is heavenly. Thanks
P.S., The drunken birthday boy, Clark Gable, hugging the young Judy, who sang to him at his party, is always fun.

Stefy - just adorable! I'd love to know where Judy and Mickey are (both with their tongues out!) as well as the backstory to the skating photos. Was she really just skating for fun? I'd imagine the one with the young man (R. Sinclair?) was part of a publicity shoot. JF will know!

Well, JF certainly doesn't know for sure :)

Both the skating pictures strike me as generic "Hollywood kids at play" poses; both the other girl and the boy seem uber-familiar as child performers of that era -- although the boy is definitely not Ronald Thoroughbreds Don't Cry Sinclair. One of the Judy books or magazines features a photo of a boy adjusting Judy's skates for her; I can't access that publication right now, but it may well be from the same event and give indication of the actor's name.

Meanwhile, my other guess is that the Judy/Mickey gallery shot was taken the day she participated in that charity tennis match with Paulette Goddard, Bill Tilden, and others. The outfit seems to be the same, yes? (Again, I'm not where I can investigate this further; sorry!) I think the blond behind them may be Mickey's buddy and sometime stand-in, Dick Paxton.

How's THAT for massively inconclusive?! :)

Your guesses are usually better than the rest of us have, so - thanks!

If you look closely at Judy's face in this pic, It looks like one eyebrow has makeup on it, but the other doesn't.. How weird for MGM!
Anyone else see that? (zoom in to Judys face)
