There were several photographs taken that night at the opening of Flora, the Red Menace; both of Judy and Liza as well as Liza and Vincente, and yet this the only picture that I keep coming back to.

When one reviews the other images from that night, the words "staged" and "cliched" come to mind. There is an overall stiffness if you will, a hawk-eye awareness of the press, a profound understanding of shape, movement, and body language and thus deliberate manipulation of the circumstance. It screamed "GARLAND'S GIRL MAKES GOOD".

This picture however, so private and intimate of a moment they are sharing that one almost feels as though they are prying. The look in Liza's eyes and the way she is clinging to Judy, and Judy almost holding her together. This isn't a picture of two legends but rather a portrait of the love between a mother and daughter.

Thankyou, I completely agree...completely...it's so real.

Edit (to be a bit more wordy):
All things that exist anywhere in any shape or form are real in their own worlds. In this coarse world of ours we perceive many of them very vaguely, lightly, often as sudden inspirations, unexpected joyfulness, or simply dreams, and so tend to think of them as not "really" existing.
But this also goes with bad dreams.. frights, nightmares, scares, anxieties, uneasiness. Everything is real in their own worlds that touch our own. So, when dreaming, I stick with good dreams and reject bad ones. I want my contacts to uplift me, not pull me down.

I think I get it! That's a really amazing way to think about things...it's exciting when you think about things being real.

It might be my degree of "unfocusness" eega, because I had to reread that several times as it at first bounced off my head ... sounds very lovely and profound, though .. :o Perspective is a powerful thing.

This is quite nice ... I don't like the pose per say, but I feel like you could fall right into and through her eyes ... good example of "windows to the soul".

She looks like a fairy (that's a wonderful compliment!)

She also fares as a looker. To put us back on this coarse earth of ours.

Wow Stefy, what a great shot from the "I Cried for You" scene. It is perfect.
Now we don't mean Greta.
And we don't mean Bette.
Or Loretta.
Or the Song of Bernadetta.
